We currently have an exciting position for an experienced leader to join us as Head of Build covering the North West and based from our Manchester office, acting as the focal point of the commercial, technical & logistical delivery of Virgin Media O2’s Network Expansion project in this region. 

The role will provide inspiring project leadership & manage our construction projects, ensuring we achieve our budget, programme and quality goals.

The Head of Build leads, coaches & coordinates a cross-functional regional team to achieve build targets whilst promoting improved productivity and effectiveness, and driving a culture of continuous improvement. The role will act as the main liaison for regional support teams such as Commercial and PMO, working with other functional leaders to maintain proactive control of build works whilst monitoring progress and seeking opportunities for acceleration & cost reduction.

This will be a fast paced role covering one of our largest regions, so you'll need significant delivery experience, and be comfortable managing Capex and Opex budgets. This is a vital role within our Network Expansion division and will provide the opportunity to work at the forefront of delivering critical infrastructure

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

Proven track record of managing and leading all aspects of large construction or civils projects or programmes, with a focus on time, cost and quality Previous significant senior leadership experience in a Telecommunications or similar environment with management of internal teams as well as external partner resource  A demonstrable understanding of Network, civils & cabling build Excellent understanding and proven evidence of managing commercial and contractor obligations under commercial arrangements such as NEC4 Exceptional presentation and communication skills - as well as providing inspiring leadership internally, this role will collaborate with external partners, be the main contact for local authorities etc. The other stuff we are looking for

New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) qualifications would be an advantage, with experience managing excavation & reinstatement of street works Experience of using project and commercial management software such as MS Project, CEMAR What's in it for you
