Day to day supervision of the Reception/Reservations Department from the guests’ initial contact, managing their booking and requirements, selling the best room rate and co-ordinating with all departments to ensure that the guest has the best possible experience and any specific requests are met.
- Resolving guest complaints and provide appropriate levels of service recovery in order to achieve the highest levels of satisfaction.
- Liaising with all other departments, providing up-to-date information to ensure all departments can provide the Thurlestone standard of service.
- Planning, preparation and delivery of festive, group, wedding, events & conference reservations.
- To understand, monitor and distribute all function sheets to the respective departments.
- Ensuring all front desk duties are met, including - all correspondence; day to day reception duties; dealing with bookings/general enquiries and billing for room accounts.
- Overseeing the daily billing and accounts ensuring any discrepancies are corrected; and thoroughly understand and adhere to proper credit and cash handling policies and procedures.
- Use suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and events.
- Be fully conversant with Trevilder and Village Inn procedures and process reservations accurately (ResDiary).
- Work with the Front Office Manager on improving and maintaining the guest journey pertaining to Reception, Reservations and Events.

- Working with the Deputy General Manager and General Manager to create event contracts and oversee the invoicing of rooms, food and beverage, equipment for events at the hotel.
- Supervise the Food & Beverage team during hotel events to ensure we exceed our guests’ expectations.
