**Job Purpose**

CEA Ltd operates an integrated three-stage trauma recovery model and whilst all staff are expected to work across these areas, the particular focus of this post is Stage One Crisis Recovery. The purpose of which is to keep women, men, and their children safe, free from further harm, and to enable recovery from Trauma.

The purpose of this post is to provide an independent advocacy service to women, men who have experienced domestic abuse and are assessed to be at very high risk and possibly at risk of repeat victimisation and have therefore been referred to the MARAC (Multi-agency Risk Assessment Conference). The post holder will work directly with clients, in conjunction with MARAC colleagues on a short to medium term basis. They will also formally advocate for individuals within professional advocacy settings providing a true reflection of the views and wishes of the clients they represent to ensure a coordinated community response.

The post holder will also carry a caseload of those clients who are at high risk but not currently within the formal MARAC process.

Key to the role will be supporting women, men in their initial crisis for an intensive time limited period and providing safety planning, practical, emotional, and signposting support.

**Key Tasks**

1. To participate in The Forth Valley MARAC together with all partner agencies, providing input advice and interventions as requested and agreed. To ensure that interventions are offered recorded and actioned within agreed timescales and to ensure that such information is fed back to MARAC at subsequent meetings.

2. Contact victims/survivors referred to MARAC, by telephone or in person; offer crisis intervention; explain the MARAC process and sensitively gather information about the victim/survivor’s views.

3. To offer immediate support to those women, men who do not meet the criteria for MARAC support but nevertheless require immediate support and assistance.

4. To sign post both groups of women, men to additional or alternative services where appropriate and to ensure a full and effective handover to such agencies.

5. To undertake thorough and rigorous risk assessment and to share such information with other agencies on a need-to-know basis and within the terms of Information sharing protocols.

6. To put in place a variety of measures to ensure that women, men feel safe and able to attend court hearings in particular to arrange directly, or with others, Court Visits and if needed arrange the Special measures necessary to support her safe attendance

8. Plans, identifying additional resources such as storm markers etc to support women, men to make choices around their accommodation options, financial and legal issues including attending solicitor’s appointments.

9. To put in place a variety of measures to ensure that women, men feel safe and able to attend court hearings in particular to arrange directly, or with others, Court Visits and if needed arrange the special measures necessary to support her/his safe attendance.

10. Manage a complex caseload of short-term clients providing information, advocacy, and support in relation to recent experiences of domestic abuse.

13. To undertake close joint work with the Stage One Crisis Intervention Service within CEA Ltd to ensure that referrals are made and received appropriately, will include joint assessment and the development of joint support plans and joint evaluation and review.

14. To maintain accurate, appropriate, and professional case notes and support plans which articulate current progress and priorities.

15 To retain timely and current monitoring information relating to agreed service outcomes.

16. To identify with service users’ key priorities and success criteria as part of their recovery and the ability to review success criteria and where appropriate re negotiate preferred outcomes and timeframes are key to the success of this work.

17. Ability to write reports to provide to MARAC meetings.

18.Maintain accurate manual and computer-based client records (in accordance with data protection).

19. To work in partnership with other agencies in particular MARAC membership and those to whom referrals may be made.

20. To provide support to other areas of CEA Ltd as appropriate and requested by Line Managers.
