TREND Transformatons Newcastle is a family owned franchise operation with our showroom and workshop located near to the Metro Centre in Gateshead.

We are actively looking for a stonemason or solid surface fabricator who has experience in templating, cutting and fabricating - quartz, granite and/or Corian worktops. We demand a high level of professionalism as well as someone that is passionate about their craft, ensuring a high quality finish.

A minimum of 5 years’ experiencein fabricating solid surface or natural stone is essential. You will need to be proficient with portable power tools, including a sander, router, angle grinder and a circular saw. Evidence of implementing H&S procedures in the workplace is a benefit. Knowledge of the construction of specialist joinery assemblies, making use of solid surface and timber materials is also required. You must be keen to learn how to work with new materials and able to work within a team and demonstrate a proven ability to work to tight deadlines. A full driver’s license is also required.
- **The job description**:_
- Hours: 8am at our workshop, finishing at 4pm.
- Interpret drawings and templates. Plan the cutting of each piece from a slab with a focus on optimization in order to reduce material offcut and waste.
- You must be able to identify and work around natural imperfections within the slab.
- Fabricating & polishing solid surface materials.
- Measure and monitor our key result areas, including (a) daily material tracking by job, (b) monthly wastage.
- Implement the brands’ ‘Fabricating Quality Control Procedure’.
- Occasionally, you will be required to attend residential homes to assist with installations and templating.
- Maintain workshop cleanliness, ensure H&S procedures are followed and consumables are sufficiently stocked.
- _Your skills_: Focus on 100% customer satisfaction. Problem solving both as an individual and in a team. Quality focused with a high attention to detail. Punctual. Good communication skills.
