**About the Project**
The Crossroads Diversion Scheme offers a trauma-informed scheme intended to address underlying causes of offending, by offering support to individuals that are at risk of entering the criminal justice system and first-time entrants. Engagement with the Crossroads Scheme is on a voluntary basis. Each individual receives a tailored support package, the intensiveness of which will be responsive to their needs. Each individual is allocated a key worker who will provide direct interventions, advocate and signpost into specialist agencies where necessary.**About the role**
The volunteer will be working closely with Police, Liaison and Diversion Services, Substance Misuse Services, Probation, Prisons and any other appropriate partners and stakeholders within office based, community and in the local police station providing a custody presence. This role is based in Harrogate and will involve travel to the office and local police stations.

This role will help you to gain valuable experience in:

**Tasks will include**:

- To provide a presence in custody in the local police stations and investigation hubs. The volunteer is there to explain the Crossroads service to police staff and potential clients.
- Supporting people to completing identified consultations and surveys
- Helping staff to take forward any ideas/actions discussed in meetings for improved EDI or working together activities
- Planning out events and notable days coming up the in the calendar (e.g. mental health awareness day) for celebrating and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion for the everyone in contact with the Crossroads service
- Promoting and encouraging people to be involved in Working Together Groups and activities.
- To assist EDI and working together (service user involvement) Champions to create opportunities for people who use/have used our services to be involved in Working Together Activities.
