We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Production Controller at Precision Casting Facility in Derby.

The Precision Casting Facility is Rolls-Royce’s largest domestic facility and home of the single crystal turbine blade. The PCF is a high-volume single crystal HP and IP turbine blade manufacture for a multitude of products, employing world class processes, integrated manufacturing systems and advanced measurement techniques.

As a Production Controller you will ensure that the Rolls Royce Operations team has the materials and resources to manufacture your portfolio of products in a busy world-class engineering and manufacturing facility. You will optimise and champion adherence to the agreed plan whilst maintaining our executive MRP systems and supporting the Rolls-Royce Production System. You will be an excellent communicator and integrator working with a range of functions including Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Management, and external service providers. You will be proactive in identifying and resolving risks which could impact delivery, inventory, and cost performance. You will support the introduction and be passionate about achieving production rate ramp up of new products.

What you will be doing:
Using scheduling techniques to control production through the process in line with business requirements to deliver on-time to customer expectations
- Ensuring that all systems used to control production planning are maintained daily and reporting key performance data for your area including Production Order Adherence, Throughput Monitoring, and Slow Moving WIP
- Working with the multi-functional team to monitor and ensure adherence to the plan at machine level and resource group level. Where performance diverges from the plan, identify, mitigate, and drive effective and full resolution.
- Regularly communicating with and managing the performance of subcontractors to ensure production plans and service levels are met
- Working with our Supplier Management teams to ensure optimum material availability through early identification and prevention of shortages and excess which would otherwise impact business performance
- Working with both internal and external stakeholders across the extended supply chain as the primary point of contact for delivery and championing the root cause resolution of on-time delivery issues

- Experience of working with manufacturing, supply chain management, purchasing or logistics field with APICS or equivalent qualifications
- Experience of SAP or equivalent ERP system, highly confident in data analysis and an aptitude and confidence to develop further
- Excellent communication skills, an ability to influence and work successfully with cross-functional teams in a rapidly changing environment
- Someone who is comfortable working alone with the detail but also works well as part of a team to improve overall business performance
- Skilled in problems solving techniques with the ability to interpret data and trends and confident to pull the right team together to find a solution
