**Who we need**

Nottingham College are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Specialist Learning Support Assistant to support neurodiverse learning. Ideally you will have previous experience of working within education and within a successful Additional Learning Support team. Key duties and responsibilities include:

- Act as a non-teaching classroom assistant, to support neurodiverse students in any location offering Nottingham College courses.
- Implement learner support plans under the direction of the Additional Support Specialist Lecturer.
- Liaise and work collaboratively with other departments cross college, including wellbeing and curriculum colleagues.
- Ensure learners’ needs are met and that support is regularly reviewed, evaluated, tracked and recorded in line with college systems.
- To help achieve the learning aims of students, by feedback, review, and modification of support plan, and to work towards their independence and self-advocacy skills.

**Key skills and experience required include**:

- Knowledge of inclusion/range and implications of disabilities/self-advocacy issues
- Ability to work in a challenging environment
- Ability to collaborate with a cross college network learning support and curriculum colleagues to contribute to long term improvements in the quality of learning support.
- Ability to deal with people and situations in a patient and objective manner
- Confidence in dealing with emergency situations - behaviour/first aid etc
- Experience of working flexibly within a team
