Hospital Security Officer

Working in collaboration within the Facilities Department we are continually evolving and is an exciting and vibrant department to work in.
The post holder will be part of the Trust’s Security Service Team, they will be professional, highly motivated and an enthusiastic team member.
As a Security Operative, you will play an important role in delivering a high standard of safety and security for all patients, staff and visitors in line with the Trust's Values as well as the Samson Security core values.
The post holder will be dealing with a wide variety of potential conflict incidents many of which will occur in very emotionally charged, traumatic scenarios. Throughout this, the post holder will need to always remain professional and impartial.
The post holder will be expected to engage in appropriate physical intervention whilst adhering to all local, national and legal requirements.

**Main duties of the job**
This can be a demanding role that is as rewarding as it is challenging.
Working an average of 42 hours on an internal rotation, covering nights and days, your duties will consist of:
Responding to Security incidents where you will be required to attend and assist in the Security request.
To attend to notifications of intruder alarm activations, responding accordingly.
Internal and external Security Patrols.
Front of House duties, include greeting visitors to the hospital.
Car Park Patrols to ensure vehicles are parked in accordance with the Trust Car Parking Policy.

- Education & Qualifications_
Essential criteria
- SIA qualification DS or CP with relevant experience.
- Good general education - GCSE or equivalent
- Must be prepared to undertaker further training including PIAM
- Knowledge_

- Customer service/customer care
Desirable criteria
- Awareness of NHS hospital security policy
- Experience_
Essential criteria
- 2 years of security-related experience
- Experience working in a large organisation is an advantage.
- Experience using Microsoft packages including Word, Excel & Outlook

- Experience of NHS Security
- Skills & Abilities_

- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Negotiation skills
- Able to work under pressure and prioritise work to meet deadlines
