A permanent Management Accountant role within the Education Sector, ideally looking for a ACCA/CIMA Passed Finalist who has commercial know-how.

**Description**

The key responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to;
- To manage and develop appropriate methodologies to produce the University's tuition fee and grant related income budget to required timescales, liaising with Executive and Heads of school as appropriate.
- To produce accurate and timely quarterly forecasting reporting packs for tuition fee and grant related income including clear and accurate variance analysis to inform management decision making by Executive.
- To be responsible for the completion of all appropriate monthly management accounts and year-end adjustments relating to tuition fee and grant income.
- To support the Senior Management Accountant in producing data and analysis for regulatory and funding body returns.
- To analyse data within Access Databases extracted from the student records system to manage the apportionment process of income to schools across budgeting, forecasting and actual.
- To implement and maintain a process for allocation of all tuition fee-based income to individual schools.
- To be responsible for the development of forecasting tools and processes, manage their implementation and keep them under constant review.
- To maintain and update as appropriate clear process documentation for all core activities.
- Maintain knowledge of funding body rules and general developments in HEI funding.
- Provide support with any fee related queries to support audit review.
- Represent the Service at University Committees/working groups where appropriate.
- Undertake any other duties commensurate to the role and grade as determined by the line manager.
**Profile**
- Experience of managing and analysing large quantities of data to provide reports that support accurate forecasting and corporate decision making;
- Experience of working collaboratively with multiple internal departments or external stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and financial management of a large organisation;
- Experience of presenting financial information/ reports to senior management groups;
- Experience of working in the finance function of a HEI;
- Passed finalist status, working towards a professional accountancy body membership (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent)
