About Us

The Methodist Church in Ireland is a community of people drawn together by God’s love, who seek to live wholeheartedly as followers of Jesus for the transformation of the world.

The Methodist Church in Ireland is a Connexion comprising of three Districts (Southern, North Western and North Eastern). Each District is made up from circuits and there are fifty-eight circuits in total. Circuits are made up of “societies” or churches throughout Ireland.

The Irish Methodist Youth and Children’s team (IMYC) seeks to develop and promote youth and children’s work within the Methodist Church in Ireland. The vision is to love and serve children and young people and those who lead them, desiring to help them take their place in God’s mission through the local, connexional and world church.

We are now looking for a Youth Ministry Co-ordinator to join us on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Benefits
- Salary of £27,344 per annum
- 35 days’ holiday including Bank Holidays
- Free onsite parking

If you have experience in youth work or ministry and a track record of organising successful events, this is an amazing opportunity to join our mission and make a difference to the lives of young Methodists.

Alongside a close-knit and likeminded team, you’ll have the chance to help us create flourishing communities, uplift the voices of young people and enable us to share the good news across Ireland.

The Role

As a Youth Ministry Co-ordinator, you will support the delivery of our local and connexional work across Ireland.

Working as part of a team, you’ll play a vital part in resourcing and equipping our organisation. You’ll enable us to carry out effective and fruitful work and grow intentional discipleship and thriving ministry amongst, and with, young people.

You’ll accompany local methodist circuits, helping to develop our Youth and Children's strategy, responding to the needs of local communities and enabling us to confront specific issues that hinder the growth of young people in our communities.

Playing a significant role in the organisation and delivery of events, you’ll produce relevant resources, content and activities for national events and assist with volunteer recruitment and training.

**Additionally, you will**:

- Contribute to our publications
- Organise training events
- Create opportunities to uplift the voices of young people and young leaders
- Stay abreast of current research and thinking around mission and discipleship with and for children and their families

About You

To be considered as a Youth Ministry Co-ordinator, you will need:

- At least three years’ experience in youth work and/or ministry
- Experience and understanding of discipleship and/or faith development in young people
- Experience and understanding of how young people interact with digital technology and connect in online spaces
- Experience of working with and enabling volunteers
- Experience of innovation and/or fresh initiatives in youth ministry and mission
- Experience of organising and facilitating events
- Experience of designing and producing new resources and programmes
- An understanding of the pressures facing young people and their families today
- To be a committed Christian, conforming with the Statement of Faith of the Methodist Church in Ireland
- A third level (higher education level) qualification in a relevant discipline
