Cardiff, United Kingdom NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership Full time

This is a new and exciting opportunity for role of a Bank Investigating Officer within NWSSP. Successful applicants will work across Wales to support investigations and other employee relations cases that adopt a compassionate approach which are undertaken in line with the All Wales Disciplinary and Respect and Resolution Polices.
Investigations will include concerns raised about behaviours and misconduct.
This post is Bank, which means there is flexibility to work it around other commitments. When an investigation comes up we will contact you to see if you are available to take on the investigation. There are no set contractual hours.
- Have experience of conducting workplace investigations
- Experience of report writing and making recommendations
- Experience of presenting reports
- Have a compassionate approach
- Have effective communications skills

1. Investigate employee relations cases both clinical and non-clinical as assigned by People and OD, including complex and high profile investigations of varying nature.
2. Be required to undertake difficult investigation interviews; this may involve discussing complex, highly sensitive and contentious information in a sometimes hostile environment where there are barriers to acceptance eg. the behaviours of Staff and Trade Union representatives at investigation meetings is often difficult, and there is a requirement to take control of the situation, but at the same time explain the rationale for the meeting.
3. Take statements from all relevant parties, receive and analyse the information gathered during the investigation, which may be detailed, complex, contradictory, highly confidential and sometimes distressing.
**4. Co-ordinate the investigation process eg**: Appropriate rooms are booked for investigation interviews to take place, equipment is booked and statements/interviews compiled in a timely manner.
5. Prepare detailed investigatory reports following each investigation, clearly highlighting discrepancies and conclusions, while remaining factual and independent.
6. Participate and present information at Disciplinary Hearings and other hearings when necessary, and ultimately Employment Tribunals, if required.
7. Make recommendations on a range of Workforce policies as part of the investigation process, along professional body codes of conduct where required.
8. Review case outcomes, and cascade any actions taken and lessons learnt to necessary Departments, Managers and Staff.
