Our objective is to enhance the psychological wellbeing of children within the care system through our Restorative Parenting recovery programme.

**About the role**:
Working with the support of the Clinical Lead Psychologist and professionals within the clinical team, the Assistant Psychologist role will involve working with children and staff to support the delivery of the Restorative Parenting® Recovery Programme. The responsibilities of the Assistant Psychologist are:
**The main responsibilities for the role will include**:

- To work with the team to understand the Restorative Parenting programme.
- To contribute to assessments of children and appropriately advise residential teams on therapeutic care of children with emotional, behavioural, and social difficulties.
- Collect, collate and present monthly data generated from our in-house outcomes monitoring assessment.
- To attend and contribute towards monthly clinical consultations with home and school teams, make notes and store appropriately.
- Independently research and access psychological, and therapeutic resources and share your findings with the other members of the clinical team and residential staff.
- Liaise effectively sharing your knowledge with the residential staff to contribute to the formulation of keyworker sessions on an as required basis.
- Utilise the electronic diary system to book in appointments and meetings, including virtual meetings, and distributing online invites to colleagues, and external professionals.
- Attend and contribute to internal clinical reviews of the children.
- Carry out appropriate psychological interventions with the support of clinical team colleagues.
- To contribute to systemic assessment and analysis of challenging behaviours and to use this to inform behavioural management guidelines and risk assessment.
- Administer, score and write up psychometric and screening assessments to measure children’s progress and identify areas for intervention.
- Play an integral part in producing our quarterly internal progress reports for each child in your allocated homes every three months.
- Produce written clinical reports and summaries of work as required.
- To play a part in Halliwell’s transition to fostering service.
- Promote and support awareness of cultural diversity. To ensure that bullying, harassment and intimidation are not tolerated.
- Ideally holds first degree in Psychology (undergraduate degree 2:1 or above).
- Desirable MSc in a branch of Psychology.
- Possess a graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
- Demonstrate experience in this role or working within a similar role.
- To undertake any reasonable travelling requirements to fulfil the tasks and responsibilities of the role.
- Possess a good standard of English and Maths.
- Have an up to date registration and DBS checks.
- Clean UK Driving License with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

- Possess good administration skills as well good I.T/Data inputting skills.
- Attend and participate in learning and development events, conferences and practice meetings to maintain your knowledge for the role.
