Pay
- £11.00 /hr - full and part-time hours available
- Generous sleep in payment - sleep ins are optional

Role

As a Learning Disabilities Support Worker you will be expected to support our clients with everyday tasks, such as:

- Supporting people with their social and physical activities. This could be helping to keep in touch with family and friends, maintaining and developing hobbies and interests such as gardening or DIY, supporting people to attend music concerts, going to Alton Towers or go on holiday of their choice be it abroad or in this country.
- Help a person with meal planning and preparation whilst providing healthy advice and guidance of new and exciting things to try.
- Encouraging a person’s independence, this may mean you will need to do a small part of a task to empower the person to complete the job in hand, such as supporting someone to choose an appropriate outfit, get washed and dressed and prepare for the day ahead.
- Provide support in a person centred way, support individual people with their own needs and goals, following support and care plans.
- Support people to take their medications in a safe way where they are as involved as possible in this process.
- Be able to communicate on all levels, advocating for clients where necessary, passing on important information to colleagues, relatives and other healthcare professionals to enable partnership working.
- Follow personalised care plans to promote a person's right to choice and control over the care and support they receive.
- Protecting people's dignity and maintaining confidentiality.

No experience is needed as full training will be provided and funded however you must have a willingness to learn and have a basic knowledge of using technology.
