Head of Operations

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Head of Operations.

You will have previous experience of working at a visitor attraction, be a good communicator with guests and staff and drive operational excellence across the site. You will be professional, emotionally well-balanced and be an ambassador for the Wyvernwood brand with both guests and staff.

You will be confident, positive and approachable, have a great deal of common sense and a “can-do” attitude.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Opening and closing the park and site security (CCTV)
- Managing the maintenance task list, project managing external contractors and ensuring that tasks are completed rapidly and cost-effectively
- Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments, reporting
- Standard Operating Procedures (implementation and evolution)
- Planday and staff rotas/shifts for the operational staff on site
- Leading morning and evening briefings for seasonal staff, motivating staff and acting as a role model
- Acting as Duty Manager on days that Wyvernwood is open and leading the team of operational staff
- Recruitment and training of operational staff, and their probationary and any disciplinary meetings
- Dealing with difficult situations arising with staff and/or guests
- Driving operational efficiencies and savings where possible
- Utilities and waste contracts, waste collections
- Responding to emergencies on site when open and when closed.
- Project managing capital projects on site
- Overseeing annual re-opening and annual packing down of the park

**Desirable additional skills**:

- Ability to train staff in-house for First Aid and Fire Safety
- Some basic handyman skills
- IT savvy (excel spreadsheets and documents)
- Numerate
- Good written and spoken English

**Terms of employment**:

- Reporting to the Managing Director
- Salary up to £40,000 p.a. depending on experience
- 23 days holiday per year
- Time off in lieu of bank holidays that arise when Wyvernwood is open
- Flexibility in working hours when Wyvernwood is closed

Set in 27 acres of countryside, Wyvernwood is a magical kingdom where guests interact with fairies, wizards, dragons, goblins, a Princess, a heroic Captain, a fire-breathing dragon and unicorns - all based on a background story. Play equipment includes an Enchanted Castle, Goblins tunnels, Magic Wishing Well, Galleon, Dragon Trail and Wellbeing Woods. story-telling of the various inhabitants. Wyvernwood is rapidly becoming a popular day out and the majority of reviews on Trip Advisor and Google are 5*. The office is close to the park, in a converted Granary. There are 3 permanent staff members; the MD, Experiences Director and Marketing Director. It is a small but dynamic team. It is a fast-paced environment, fun and exciting as Wyvernwood grows and evolves and every day there are new challenges to overcome. **Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: Up to £40,000.00 per year
