**Purpose of the role**:
To assist the Internal Audit Managers in the Internal Audit team with the planning and execution of individual internal audit reviews to provide an independent assessment of the effectiveness of AEGIS London’s policies, procedures and control framework, under the guidance of the Head of Internal Audit. This role requires a degree of autonomy and willingness to learn on-the-job, while working across all business lines and liaising with the relevant stakeholders to ensure that the audit function creates a positive impact on the business.

**Duties and accountabilities**:

- To assist in the planning and execution of risk-based internal audit reviews of operational processes in accordance with the annual internal audit plan and to the agreed quality, professional and ethical standards.
- To carry out testing, including detailed analysis and evaluation where appropriate, to determine whether control processes are operating effectively.
- To work with the internal audit managers and the business stakeholders in formulating actions to address weaknesses. To help make sound recommendations to enhance controls and risk management and monitor implementation.
- To assist in the preparation of reports for management, providing a summary of work undertaken, findings and recommended actions.
- To provide feedback on the risks and controls documented in the risk register, based on internal audit findings and recommendations.
- To work with external third-party internal audit co-source providers as SMEs and assist in over-seeing their work.

**Skills, knowledge and experience**:

- Highly motivated self-starter with an ability to work independently and able to deliver work to deadline.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels within the organisation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to produce high quality written reports.
- A relevant recognised professional accountancy/auditing qualification (ideally ACA/ACCA or IIA) is required.
- Practical internal audit experience would be preferable but not necessarily in Insurance / London Market.
- Strong IT skills and Data Analytics capability would be preferable.
