Apricus Resourcing are currently looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and adaptable Payroll Officer for a Well-Respected Specialist Charity Community Service for Complex Needs in Durham, initially on a locum basis which can be extended for a set amount or made permanent once probationary period is passed depending on your preference.

Within your role you will be required to assist in the provision of a professional, effective payroll administration service across the organisations which employees up to 1800 people. This is a busy role, working with a high volume of employees over 2 payrolls and requires someone with up to date knowledge of payroll and pension legislation.

You will be the main point of contact for all payroll queries, so you will need to demonstrate good communication skills and be confident dealing with external agencies such as the HMRC. You will be process driven, demonstrating attention to detail with the ability to work autonomously as well as being a supportive member of the finance team.

The successful applicant will be an experienced, compassionate individual who will be able to offer service users first-class support in an industry leading working environment. This role is working full time with standard hours Monday-Friday 9am-5pm based from Durham.

**Duties include**
- Ensuring that all staff members are remunerated in accordance with their work contracts.
- Processing all changes to payroll records as received from HR source data.
- Ensuring full compliance with all statutory payments, deadlines and administrative submissions.
- Maintaining the payroll system with up-to-date legislative changes and software updates, as directed by line manager.
- Working closely and cooperate with the HR department to continuously improve processes and information flows.
- Reviewing current payroll processes and make proposals to management for improvements.
- Liaising with and provide salary information to managers and employees as requested.
- Providing an efficient and effective end-to-end payroll service in relation to the lifecycle of an employee, including creation/checking of new employees, variations to contract, payments, deductions and terminations.
- Processing time sheets, P45s, Attachment of Earnings and any other additional financial amendments to the payroll records

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract

**Salary**: £15.93-£16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Schedule:
