**Main role**:The Receptionist position is a varied front of house role that involves being the first point of contact for visitors to the School. **Reporting to**:Student Services Lead and Principal

**Based at**:154 Southampton Row, London, WC1B 5JX

**Duties**:
The following list is not necessarily exhaustive, and staff members are encouraged to become familiar with all aspects of the work of the office:

- To provide a confident and warm welcome and facilitate the smooth entry of students, staff, contractors and visitors to the School.
- To help students currently in the school with basic enquiries about courses, accommodation and other matters.
- To act as first port of call for prospective new students and to people enquiring on their behalf, both face-to-face, by phone and by answering written

enquiries..
- Complete DBS checks for new staff
- To operate and help maintain the school’s Customer Management System

(CMS) and keep accurate records of student contact details.
- To check and log student attendance on CLASS and rigorously enforce the

school’s policies and procedures on attendance with particular focus on Tier 4.
- To collect and maintain up-to-date ID and visa records on CLASS for all students in cooperation with the registration team.

Print and issue student certificates
- To be one of the staff members on call out of office hours to deal with

problems or emergencies by telephone.
- To keep the Principal informed of all important matters.
- Where requested by the Senior Registrar, Office Manager, Principal or Managing Director, to provide any other administrative / secretarial assistance to the school.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Friendly, flexible, outgoing and enthusiastic outlook
- Excellent telephone manner
- Ability to work in a team
- Hard-working and reliable
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- GSCE-level numeracy skills and proficient in English (Min. C1 on CEFR)
- Computer literate (MS Office essential)

The following are not minimum requirements, but would be **advantageous**:

- Fluency in a second language
- Office experience
- Previous EFL industry or customer service experience
- Experience using Class for Windows

**Job Types**: Permanent, Part-time
Part-time hours: 25 per week

**Salary**: £18,000.00 per year
