SERVICE IMPROVEMENT1) To develop and oversee effective delivery of in-house Peer Support Worker training programme for staff employed by SWLSTGs and/or partnership organisations2) To develop and oversee effective delivery of in-house Peer Support Supervisor training for people supervising lived experience roles at SWLSTGs3) To contribute to the expansion of personal and professional development opportunities for the lived experience workforce at SWLSTGs e.g., Peer Support open day4) To contribute to building the reputation of SWLSTGs as a positive employee for people seeking a career in peer support e.g., Peer Support recruitment events5) To promote coproduction and involvement of people with lived experience at SWLSTGs6) To identify and maintain positive links with community and partnership agencies in respect of peer training7) Alongside the Lived Experience/Peer Support Lead explore opportunities for developing a Peer Support Apprenticeship programme at SWLSTGs in-line with national directives and in partnership with provider organisations/universities EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY1) Use the expertise of their own experience of mental health challenges to inform the development of local or Trustwide policies.2) Draw on own experience of mental health challenges to identify opportunities to improve quality and efficiency of service delivery3) To monitor, report and record the effectiveness of all training programmes in terms of equality, diversity and inclusivity4) To have an understanding of the challenges and issues that may prevent or reduce the effectiveness of training for specific groups of people and the ability to effectively address any challenges. GOVERNANCE1) Contribute to continual safety and quality improvement activities2) Use available resources effectively and efficiently3) Demonstrate an awareness of the governance processes and the relevant standards that are required and monitored within the team4) Participate in monitoring and reporting for audits specific to own work area5) As a member of the Involvement Team to work within all Trust policies and procedures PERSONAL AND PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT1) Recognise own limitations and makes judgements within level of owncompetency, recognising situations which require intervention from othermembers of the team or escalation to more senior staff.2) Respond appropriately to crisis situations, where necessary seeking advice and guidance from other professionals. Implements prescribed protocols to manage the crisis effectively and informs relevant staff in a timely manner.3) Responsible for maintaining appropriate boundaries and professionalism4) Participate in the induction of new staff and assist in the delivery of training to other lived experience roles as appropriate.5) Participate in the supervision, support and training of junior members of the team, under the direction of the Lived Experience/Peer Support Lead6) Ability to be self-motivated, with excellent time-management skills to be able to meet tight timescales7) There may be occasional exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances of a sensitive nature including supporting people who may be distressed. COMMUNICATION1) Ability to build relationships with staff, service users and carers and anunderstanding of the challenges they may face in terms of their specific roles within the Trust2) Ability to review, analyse and respond to the training and supervision needs of all staff involved in peer support programmes within the Trust3) Communicate in a way which reflects per values and recognises and appreciates difference and ensures that people feel included and their individual communication needs are met.4) To liaise with a variety of stakeholders; lived experience network members, staff at SWLSTG and other Mental Health Trusts, partner organisations and national training providers
