Job description

The Safer Communities Team in Ealing are responsible for the management and investigations of anti-social behaviour, this includes proactively investigating and resolving anti-social behaviour complaints, delivering early interventions and support to victims, effectively managing a number of ASB cases using a problem-solving approach and where appropriate using intervention and enforcement tools.

We are seeking a Safer Communities Officer to join the team with experience of ASB or community safety within social housing, housing estates and tenancy management related work, with a passion for improving our neighbourhoods for our tenants and the wider community across a geographical cluster. Reporting to a Safer Communities Cluster Team Leader and working within a Cluster Team, you will be able to:

- Investigate cases of anti-social behaviour using a creative problem solving approach
- Develop, build and maintain strong partnership working across a range of multi agencies including police, social care, community groups and other partner agencies
- Escalate cases where appropriate for enforcement action such as Civil Injunction Orders, Premises Closure Orders and Possession proceedings
- Have a sound knowledge of Anti-Social Behaviour, housing and criminal legislation
- Have experience of dealing with complex cases including working with those deemed as vulnerable
- Knowledge of using intervention tools and techniques
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate Negotiating and influencing key decision making
- Deliver good customer service and key organisational skills
- Develop a thorough local knowledge of residents and community issues
- Provide advice and guidance on key issues including anti-social behaviour, crime, CCTV and noise nuisance

In this role you will be expected to work as part of a duty rota, which includes office working to ensure high risk related cases and queries from members of the public are responded to and actioned promptly. To begin with you will be expected to work in the office every day, upon successful completion of the probation period, the role will then transition into a hybrid role, with a requirement to be in the office two days per week (minimum).

This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
