**About the Role**:
Tile House Surgery is looking to recruit an administrator to join our existing administration team of 9. You will provide general administrative support to the doctors, nurses and reception team. This involves the use of SystmOne (specialist clinical software), MS Word, Excel and Outlook. With additional administrative work including reports, scanning, read coding and booking appointments for patients relating to test results. Full training is provided on all systems and processes.

Main duties of the role include:
The following are the core responsibilities of the role. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.
- To work as part of a team
- To scan and read letters received into the surgery.
- To provide an efficient service of typing of letters, reports, patient referrals etc. in an accurate and quality manner using MS Word and SystmOne clinical system.
- To set up electronic referrals as required and attach forms/clinical information as per the GPs request.
- Contacting hospitals regarding patient appointments.
- To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries.
- To receive and dispatch mail.
- Receiving incoming telephone calls from patients regarding their test results. Providing the patient with the instructions/information that the GP has provided at the time of review.
- Any other duties which may be required, appropriate to the role of Medical Administrator/GP Assistant.

If you have strong administration experience, preferably with some medical environment knowledge, and are looking for a new and exciting career, then we would love to hear from you.

You will have the following skills and experience:

- Administrative experience and good organisation skills.
- Proficiency in the MS Office package as well as excellent IT skill.
- Ability to 'think on your feet' and a positive work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional manner.
- Ability to understand the need to maintain confidentiality and data security at all times.
- Ability to multi-task and to work accurately under pressure.
- Ability to work in a team as well as being comfortable working independently.
