**Job summary**:
The role of the Joint Force Development (JFD) Security and Resilience Advisor is to provide leadership, direction and advice across the Higher Level Budget on all security and resilience matters that have a corporate bearing on JFD business. This encompasses:
Evaluating security and resilience risks applicable to the HLB, including implementation of control and mitigation measures.

Strategic oversight of security and resilience activity across the HLB, ensuring compliance with policy and direction.

Delivering an effective security and resilience culture across the HLB.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
Maintain strategic oversight of all aspects of security and resilience across the HLB to include, but not limited to; physical, information, cyber, communications, personnel; third-party assurance; and guarding. Ensuring security and business continuity is delivered in alignment with organisational objectives.

Ensure all security and resilience plans are in place for the HLB and all BLB/ Head of Establishment areas within the HLB Area of Responsibility (AOR). Support all areas of Business Resilience through the development and assurance of pan-JFD Business Continuity and Resilience planning, ensuring the ability to restore business critical outputs following any disruptive event. Enable the identification and management of assets, in support of highly sensitive cutting-edge capabilities, critical to our national defence.

Co-ordinate activities to drive continuous improvement and encourage the sharing of knowledge and best practice through developing effective relationships with all stakeholders, and in order to inform and influence security and resilience decisions.

Provide security and security risk management advice to the HLB, developing approaches to effectively report risks. Act as HLB focal point for the co-ordination of Risk Balance Cases (RBCs), MODCERTS and other ad-hoc security requests. Act on intelligence indicating any risk to the supply chain from hostile actors, including providing advice and assurance on supplier’s security, risk management, business continuity practices across acquisitions and services encourage continuous improvement.

Ensure all security related incidents and breaches are reported across the HLB, iaw JSP 440, to the UKStratCom WARP (Warning and Advisory Reporting Point). Major and/or time-sensitive incidents should also be reported at the earliest opportunity to the UKStratCom Security Operating Procedures Team. Where required, conduct or oversee investigations through to closure. Trend incidents for statistical purposes.

Monitor and, where appropriate, input to security and resilience training / exercise initiatives undertaken within JFD, noting any significant problems and action required to enable lessons learned.

Administration and Communications:
Disseminate security notices, alerts, and threat reporting issued by relevant authorities.

Provide an annual report, including evidenced assurance, of the status of security and resilience across the HLB and all establishments / locations within the HLB AOR.

Represent JFD, or lead where applicable, any relevant meetings / working groups within the security and resilience AOR.

Undertake other activities requested by Line Management chain as appropriate.

**Person specification**:
To be successful in this role you will have previous experience and knowledge of security assurance and/or the management of business resilience, with a willingness to learn unfamiliar areas. As this is a new post, you will be required to develop the role and have a comprehensive understanding of security and resilience controls. There may be a later requirement for the post holder to obtain Developed Vetting clearance.
