Night Receptionist/porter

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Night Receptionist/Porter to join our team.
Reporting to the Front Office Manager, you are responsible for adhering to night audit procedures, dealing with guest queries, check ins and check outs, and ensuring the comfort, security, and safety of our guests.
**Duties**:
- To assist in the smooth and efficient day to day running of the Front Office.
- To up-hold and maintain a high level of customer service focused on the guests’ requirements.
- To ensure that all guests are met, roomed, and checked out according to the hotel standard operating procedures.
- To have a full understanding of all room categories and locations.
- To be fully conversant with all the hotels Front Office computerised systems.
- To be fully conversant with all other departments of the hotel.
- To ensure that all telephone calls are handled in accordance with the hotels standard operating procedures.
- To ensure a strict control of guest keys, safe keys, till keys, and all other master keys.
- Ensure that all messages are correctly taken and forwarded as soon as possible to the necessary people.
- Ensure that all guests’ requirements are dealt with efficiently and correctly.
- Complete all items on the task list and any other items you are requested to complete.
- Ensure that all guests’ accounts are correct and updated through the duration of their stay.
- To ensure that all accounts are settled by the guests on departure, except any groups that have pre-arranged credit facilities with the hotel.
- To ensure that all monies are always kept secure, and that all banking passed to accounts is correct.
- To ensure that all function accounts are correct and ready for payment on departure or to be passed to accounts.
- To ensure that all enquiries are dealt with in the correct manor and that the correct information is obtained and passed to the relevant department for processing.
- Staff training of any new team members, health and safety, security, technical and behavioural.
- Support the bar operation when able and when required.
- Be confident in ability to co-ordinate staff and guest in hotel evacuation and fire safety.
- Maintain a hands-on approach and always remain professional, creating a culture for excellent customer care.
- Conduct health and safety checks and night walks, ensuring a minimum of 3 security checks at regular intervals with emphasis on security and fire safety.
- Full knowledge of computer systems and carry out reception duties such as late check-ins, early check-outs, extending stays and wake up calls.
- Carry out a comprehensive handover to the early reception team before the end of your shift.
- Keep staff and work areas tidy, safe and report any hazards, accidents, loss, or damage.
- Public areas are to be cleaned to and left to a high standard every night.
- When two staff are on, please assist F&B where required.
**Requirements**:
- Strong communication skills and phone etiquette.
- Customer service-oriented with a focus on hospitality.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Happy to work through the night and be responsible for the hotel and the safety of guests.
- Driving License due to the remote location of the hotel.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.29 per hour
Expected hours: 37.00 per week
