**Introducing Carrie**
Carrie is a lovely 11-year-old girl who is looking for an engaging, energetic, and enthusiastic experienced support worker with a fun personality. She loves music and sensory stimulation in terms of physical interaction and will respond in quite a ‘chatty’ way, vocalising a range of sounds and when people talk to her she will respond with smiles and facial expressions.

Being most alert in the afternoon, this is when the family may enjoy a trip to the park, have lunch at a local restaurant or a trip to the seaside as she also enjoys these activities. Carrie receives nutrition, water, and medication via a PEG, has limited upper limb function and not able to weight bear through her legs. She can have a disturbed sleep pattern and rarely sleeps right through the night, which makes her fatigued during the day.

The role would be suited to someone that has SEND experience as the role will be to provide safe effective care to Carrie to reassure her parents their child is receiving a high quality of care. You will need to be competent and experienced in the management of epilepsy and able to administer medication as and when needed and recognise the need for further assistance. Carrie is home schooled, so we are looking for someone that can stimulate her development while working a day shift.

Carrie has profound and multiple physical and learning difficulties arising from brain injuries at the time of her birth; she requires complete assistance and guidance with all aspects of her daily living, learning and personal care tasks. You will also be expected to implement care as advised by Carrie’s team of therapists and record information relating to this as advised. To be able to manage a young lady with complex care needs and fragile health, a professional demeanour to inspire confidence and trust in the client's mother.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated person to join a dedicated home care team and develop existing skills and support this very special little girl. A truly rewarding role for someone who is able to communicate effectively and an ability to work with patience, tact, understanding, warmth and compassion.
