**Key Responsibilities**:

- Payment Optimization Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive payment optimization strategy to increase payment authorization rates and reduce payment failures globally.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive payments strategy that aligns with Twinkl's business goals and international growth plans.
- Chargebacks: Ensure we challenge appropriately and keep our chargeback rate as low as possible
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a team of payment experts
- Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly monitor payment performance metrics.
- Payment Gateway Management: Oversee the selection, integration, and management of payment gateways, ensuring seamless connectivity and smooth payment processing across multiple regions and currencies.
- Fraud Prevention: Collaborate with the fraud prevention team to develop strategies and implement measures to minimise fraudulent transactions while balancing customer convenience and conversion rates.
- Payment Provider Partnerships: Manage relationships with payment service providers, banks, and other financial institutions to negotiate favourable terms, drive innovation, and stay abreast of industry trends.
- Customer Experience: Champion the customer-centric approach by ensuring customers have a variety of payment options available to them and a user-friendly payment journey.
- Compliance and Security: Stay up-to-date with global payment regulations and industry best practices. Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect customer payment data and ensure compliance with relevant standards

**To succeed in the role, you will have**:

- A strong entrepreneurial mindset and a propensity for action
- Proven experience in payment optimisation for a subscription-based company
- Experience with international payment authorization and optimisation
- Sound decision-making skills and diligence in seizing new opportunities.
- Commercially astute and a strategic thinker who is comfortable taking calculated risks and being accountable for successes and failures, setting SMART targets and reporting at all levels.
- Ability to communicate a shared vision and motivate individuals and a team.
- Methodical, highly organised, accurate and execution-focused.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
- Proven experience in payment optimisation for a subscription-based company
- Strong understanding of payment processing, payment gateways, and industry trends
- Experience managing a team and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
- Deep knowledge of fraud prevention techniques, risk management, and compliance
- Familiarity with payment-related technologies, tools, and integrations
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners
- Results-oriented mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and customer satisfaction
