**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Intervention and Safeguarding Coordinator**

**JOB PURPOSE**

Join our dynamic team as an Intervention and Safeguarding Coordinator and be a vital part of A21's mission to combat human trafficking. You will play a crucial role in implementing the vision of the A21 Recover Department by participating in targeted airport operations to identify and support trafficking victims. Your efforts will provide essential care and assistance during the critical initial hours after victims are identified, ensuring their well-being and guiding them through their next steps.

In this multifaceted role, you will collaborate with law enforcement, airport staff, and various NGOs, offering your expertise and support to ensure a coordinated response to trafficking incidents. You will also be responsible for delivering and expanding professional training opportunities, enhancing the capabilities of frontline professionals across sectors. By maintaining and establishing robust relationships with key partners, you will help promote A21’s overall vision and mission, making a tangible difference in the lives of trafficking survivors.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/ KEY DUTIES**

**Professional Training**
- Promote and provide access to the UK Counter Trafficking Toolkit as a training resource.
- Deliver regular, ongoing training to key UK partners, including law enforcement and medical practitioners.
- Ensure all training materials are current and relevant.
- Develop and maintain training networks and opportunities across various sectors.

**Key Partnerships and Organisational Communication**
- Maintain continuous communication with key organisational partners.
- Establish and promote effective working relationships with partner agencies, both statutory and voluntary.
- Collaborate closely with services, A21 offices, and other NGOs to ensure the successful repatriation of victims.
- Develop and expand the existing database of organisations and NGOs.

**Victim-Identification Assistance**
- Assist law enforcement with regularly scheduled victim identification operations at UK airports.
- Conduct and assist with screening interviews for potential trafficking victims.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport staff to explain available options during victim identification operations.
- Respond to emergency call-outs, providing crisis intervention and victim advocacy.
- Arrange interpreters for victim identification operations.
- Liaise with appropriate services regarding support and care plans.
- Assist with repatriation as necessary (pre-departure, post-arrival, and ongoing).
- Identify and resolve issues preventing survivors from accessing specific services.

**Policies, Monitoring and Reporting**
- Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, government policies, and best practice requirements, particularly concerning homelessness, immigration, cultural diversity, and issues related to trafficking and exploitation in the UK.
- Adhere to and implement A21’s current monitoring and reporting processes for victim assistance and identification.
- Ensure necessary follow-up actions, including maintaining and monitoring action plans.
- Conduct risk assessments and follow health and safety procedures accordingly.
