You will be an important part of the Maintenance Team in this industry leading Landscaping contractor. The company are renowned for their award-winning Garden Landscapes and are known for delivering complex, city centre installations often on the roof of a development.
They have recently expanded their Soft Landscaping department to include the ongoing Maintenance of their commercial landscape projects to provide a continuity of service after completion. They are looking for experienced Landscape Maintenance Supervisors who take pride in the quality of their work to maintain some of the most prestigious commercial landscape projects in London.
**The Job**:
The Maintenance Supervisor will manage one or two site teams and is responsible for ensuring that their sites are maintained to the highest standards. You will have a good knowledge of gardening practices and, working alongside your team, your regular duties will centre on general plant care including the maintenance of grassed areas, mowing, weeding, mulching, hedge cutting, strimming, pruning and spraying. You will also be involved in some planting and small tree works.
You will ideally have experience in commercial grounds / garden maintenance and will ensure that you and your team have the correct uniform and PPE. Also that the vehicles and machinery that you use are in good order and safe to operate. Duties will include;
- Working alongside your team maintaining areas of garden to the highest standard, ensuring that the gardens always look their best.
- Your plant and general gardening knowledge will enable you to identify problems including pest and disease and propose suitable solutions.
- Making sure that completed work is recorded and reported
- Communicating any issues or problems with your Line Manager
- Maintaining good relations with the client on site together with residents and members of the public.
- Notification of any H&S issues, Observations or Accidents in line with company procedures
**The Person**:
You will have previous supervisory experience in a landscaping role and have good communication skills. Importantly you will be hardworking with good attention to detail and will probably hold a level 2 or 3 Horticultural qualification.
