Description

Cross Country Carriers are a family run Haulage business who believes their staff are the driving force of the company. With 45 successful years in the transport industry this role is an exciting opportunity for someone wanting to gain the knowledge, experience and qualifications of an Account Manager within a Haulage firm based in Risby.

Working with the Account Manager to learn every aspect of the whole finance department the day to day duties will include:
**Financial**:

- Sales ledger - including dealing with customer queries.
- Purchase ledger
- Payroll and administration
- Invoicing and crediting
- Monitoring cash flow
- Debtors and credit control
- Bank reconciliations
- Journal transfers
- Credit card payments
- Assisting with month and year end accounts routines
- Assisting with annual audits
- Assisting with management accounts
- Assisting with cash book, nominal ledger and any other areas the Finance Manager requires

**Haulage**:

- To deal with customer queries on pricing of invoices.
- To be competent in the use of UPN and Palletways portals.

**General**:

- Participate in internal / external meetings as requested.
- Identify and meet personal job-related training and development as required.
- Undertake telephone liaison with relevant contacts.
- Provide assistance in terms of general and specific business support as required.
- Stationary orders and cleaning product orders as and when required.
- Other adhoc finance team duties that are required.

We are looking for a dynamic go getter apprentice who is will to learn and grow with the company Someone with problem solving abilities in order that you can take client issues and independently and satisfactorily resolve them. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at every level. A good eye for detail, and a flair for producing high quality written communications. A positive mindset and a get up and go, can-do attitude.

Entry requirements
- We offer fully supported on the job training, working alongside an experienced mentor and day release to college. As well sponsorship through AAT qualifications.
- Educated to 2 A-levels (grade A-C) and 5 GSCEs (grade A-C/4-9) including English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications.

Training to be provided
- The learner will be studying the Accounts or Finance Sssistant Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
- Day release to West Suffolk College.
- Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.

Things to consider

The vacancy is based in Risby so own transport will be required. On site role, although once trained up and competent, one day a week working from home will be considered.
