**£24,000-£25,000 pa, depending on experience**

**Days of Work - Tuesday - Saturday**

**Hours of Work - 7am - 4pm (40 hours per week)**

My client is well established college in Cambridge city centre that makes up part of the world-renowned University of Cambridge. My client is looking for a House Porter to join their friendly, supportive, and forward-thinking team. This is a great opportunity for a future career, where you can truly have input and become part of a team, which has an excellent reputation. This is a full-time position, and the working days will be Tuesday to Saturday. The role will consist of you being responsible for providing a friendly service to college members and visitors at the College Porters' Lodges, patrolling the college to ensure the safety of those living and working there. Also to ensure that the College premises are kept clean and ready for use and to provide porterage to college members, staff and College guests. To set up Conference rooms and equipment as required.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Perform the cleaning duties in the areas designated in your works
- Prepare public rooms and AV equipment for meetings/conferences, as required, and clear the rooms afterwards
- Store and check conference equipment and set up for use as instructed
- Empty rubbish bins, collect and dispose of rubbish throughout the College buildings and grounds
- Collect and return to the Bar any glasses, bottles, etc., left throughout the College
- Organise the receipt and distribution of college hire linen
- Check and store incoming deliveries from suppliers
- Give assistance with removals of furniture, books, papers, etc.
- Undertake further training when required
- Ensure that the principles of 'safe working practice' is always adhered to
- Always wear appropriate uniform
- Any other reasonable duties required by the Central Site Housekeeper or in their absence by their deputy, Head of Housekeeping Services and/or Junior Bursar.

**Skills and Experience Required**:

- Good organisational skills
- High degree of practical/manual ability
- Ability to lift and move heavy items
- Knowledge of health and safety issues in the workplace.
- Audio Visual and Conference room set ups (would be beneficial but not essential)
- Residential domestic/caretaker work
- Supervisory experience
