The Intelligence and Digital (I&D) directorate is a large-scale, agile, fast paced and rapidly evolving directorate that is at the leading edge of using advanced data capabilities to develop actionable intelligence. We are developing new and innovative solutions that support the FCAs core missions.

We are recruiting for a pro-active and results driven Executive Assistant. This is a critical role in ensuring that I&D can carry achieve its mission effectively. The role requires pro-active engagement with key stakeholders across I&D, DTI and the wider FCA.

What does the role involve? What are the key responsibilities?

Supporting the Director - Enabling the Director to achieve his objectives. This includes delivering against the I&D strategy and supporting the Director’s responsibility as a sponsor of a number of key transformational programmes. You will be responsible for ensuring that issues are clearly prioritised for the Director, together with liaising with staff at all levels to advise and co-ordinate on the preparation and editing of Committee papers; ensuring all actions are dealt with in a timely manner.

Supporting the flow of information - Ensuring the effective flow of information between the Director, the I&D leadership team, across DTI, and the rest of the FCA. This will include ensuring that the Director is properly briefed on emerging and ongoing issues, that his diary reflects his priorities and information is communicated effectively across relevant channels. Strong stakeholder management with other Executive Assistants, Operations Managers and business partners is necessary to deliver this.

Governance oversight - Support and input into I&D decision making using unique oversight of both I&D and information gathered from contacts across the FCA. You will recognise opportunities to contribute to decision making and help ensure the leadership team have taken all relevant factors into account as part of the planning and decision-making process. Developing the work plan for papers to be taken to major FCA committees, ensuring these are commissioned in good time, providing guidance to authors to ensure consistent presentation, undertaking QA reviews before submission of papers to the director/SLT.

Organisational planning and performance - Supporting effective planning, operational and leadership challenges across the division. This includes providing support to the enablement function and private offices within DTI in ensuring that periodic tasks including risk reviews, financial review/budget, resource planning, talent management, communications and pay review are co-ordinated effectively and completed efficiently. Coordinates cross I&D engagement in resolving issues where necessary.

Responsive to non-standard requests - ensuring I&D is responsive to events and customer demands, "taking charge" of issues which fall across or outside the remit of individual members of the leadership team. Acting as the focal point, and ensuring that a timely response is provided. Managing ad hoc projects and tasks such as the planning and coordination of office moves,

coordinating the response to Freedom of Information Requests and preparing briefing notes for external meetings and speaker events.

Which minimum, essential & desirable skills are required?

Minimum- Strong organisational, prioritisation and time management skills.- Strong relationship management and diplomatic skills to allow you to deal effectively with people of all levels in the FCA.
