About the Role
To manage the Operational Depot in Sheffield, and it’s staff and ensure all operational activities are carried out in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective way and to maintain full alignment with company strategic objectives. Manages the operations within a team including people management responsibility. Sets and executes daily, weekly, monthly plans. Day and month focus.
You will be responsible to:
- Ensure all facilities are kept secure and maintained to agreed working standards.
- Ensure you rightly demonstrate the RVT Culture and Company Values are developed so as to be an authoritative influence in this area.
- Adopt the role of H&S ‘competent person’ for the site and ensure safe working practices across all activities.
- Manage direct reports to ensure tasks, KPI’s, and productivity expectations are met.
- Manage your team as allocated under the Organisation Design chart.
- Oversee the effective training of team members.
- Carry out 1-2-1 meetings with your team.
- Oversee the ‘ready for hire process’ of all equipment (washing, electrical (PAT) and mechanical readiness) and ensure agreed SLA’s are maintained.
- Oversee the ‘despatch’ process and ensure agreed SLA’s are met.
- Liaise with the Operations Logistics teams with regard to collections and despatches to ensure all KPI’s are met.
- Ensure effective management of stock control for all plant and consumables held at the depot.
- Effectively ensure management of goods inwards (stock and capex) and ensure all QC checks are done in a timely and effective way.
- Ensure adequate and effective communications are maintained with your Line Manager.
- Assist with installations and equipment breakdowns as and when required.
- Maintain a high level of site health and safety awareness across the team.
- Assist the Operations and Finance Managers in maintaining effective budgetary controls for the depot.
What skills and experience is required:
- Warehouse supervision/ managerial experience required.
- Driving licence essential.
- Experience in logistics an advantage.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage workload and working environment.
- Ability to manage team members and assist them in meeting their KPI’s.
- Excellent attention to detail and solid organisational skills.
- Ability to perform in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to maintain high housekeeping standards ensuring colleagues are working in a tidy and safe environment.
- Forklift license preferable but not essential as training will be provided.
- Health & Safety certified to level 3 desirable.
- Good IT Skills.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
