- £17.38 p/h + holiday pay- Web advert- Vacancy ID 15414- We are currently recruiting for a temporary Communications and Engagement Officer to work on site at one of our centrally based departments starting ASAP for approx 12 weekd working 37.5 hrs p/w and paying £17.38 p/h- Duties:
- Professionally deliver the staff communications element of the Professional Services Together programme and Focus team in support of the department’s objectives.
- Develop and update online communications for the department and Professional Services Together, including the intranet, website and other channels.
- Identify and actively engage with a wide range of stakeholders and audiences, building strong relationships. Providing timely and relevant information for these audiences, inviting and responding to feedback and providing opportunities for consultation and involvement.
- Support the planning and organisation of large events as part of the communications strategy for professional services, including the Professional Services Conference and Professional Services Staff Induction events.
- Represent the department and Professional Services Together at internal events and through communications to share the work of these areas.
- Conduct surveys, focus groups and other activities to support the evaluation of communications and to inform future activities.
- Contribute to the production of promotional materials including web content, brochures, leaflets and posters.
- Act as a key contact in PACS and for Professional Services Together for internal communications-related matters; engaging with a range of stakeholders and audiences, including those in senior positions, to ensure a co-ordinated approach to internal communications
- Ensure that departmental communications follow the University guidelines on style and branding, and encourage others to use them.

Be an active member of the University’s Communication Officers network and/or other relevant networks/groups in order to share information, promote best practice and ensure cross-University communications are coordinated.

- Demonstrable communications experience in print and digital formats
- Proven experience in producing and managing effective web content
- Excellent writing skills and attention to detail, with a proven ability to communicate complex concepts to a non-specialist audience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including diplomacy and the ability to inspire the confidence of senior colleagues.
- A high level of initiative and ability to work independently, while delivering to an agreed framework plan and keeping colleagues abreast with status updates to ensure smooth handovers and clear task tracking A highly organised approach and excellent administrative and IT skills-
- TSS workers accrue holiday pay that is equivalent to 38 days per year, this means you accrue a whopping 17.1% in holiday pay for the hours that you work for us.
