Studio Photographer

Swindon, United Kingdom Tobias Robins Photography Full time

If you’re a fantastic family photographer, with at least one year proper studio experience, and you want to earn more than the industry average, in a lovely warm environment, creating timeless portraits of one of the most precious times in any one’s life - this could be the role for you.

We’re an industry-leading newborn and family photography business based in Swindon, Wiltshire, and we’re looking for another photographer to join our team.

**Here are a few of your key responsibilities**:
**When photographing families**:

- You’ll work with families and groups of all ages
- You’ll help prepare the studio for the shoot, making sure we’re all good to go when the next family arrives
- Each family session lasts for up to an hour, and your job is straightforward: take pictures

**When photographing newborns**:
Over many years, we’ve refined our process, and we know that there are two key ingredients to a successful newborn shoot:
1. Exceptional photography
2. Exceptional baby-handling

We don’t expect our photographers to do both, which is why we have a dedicated “baby whisperer” who makes sure the baby is relaxed and happy, looks after mum and dad and makes sure the baby is the right position for you to take perfect pictures.
- You’ll work with babies around 7-10 days old (for the most part, sometimes they’ll be a bit younger, sometimes a little older).
- You’ll help prepare the studio for the shoot, making sure we’re all good to go when baby arrives
- Each newborn photography session takes between 2 and 4 hours, and your job is straightforward: take pictures

**This role will be perfect for you if**:

- You’re an experienced studio family photographer
- You’re physically fit, and find it easy to get around
- You love babies, and love the idea of taking beautiful pictures of them
- You’re happy working in a warmer than normal environment (we have to keep the studio warm for baby)
- You’re patient, methodical and able to concentrate for long periods of time
- You can follow a system
- You have a kind, calm and empathetic nature
- You’re confident and have a bubbly personality

**What are the hours and what’s the pay like?**

The hours are good - typically between 9am and 5pm. Five days a week, 37.5 hours per week. Newborn sessions are typically weekdays and families are school holidays and weekends. There will be regular weekend working to meet this demand.

The pay is also very good - between £20,000 and £30,000 for the right person - which as you’ll know is extremely competitive in the photography world.

**The next step**

If you’ve read this far and you’re keen, the next step is to send us your CV and your portfolio (either as a PDF or a link to an online gallery) together with a cover letter that tells us why you’d be a fantastic fit for this role, as well as telling us your favourite colour so we know you’ve read this and can follow instructions

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £20,000.00-£30,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Work Location: In person

Reference ID: NB/F-Photographer
