Tops Day Nurseries are currently looking to provide 16-18 year olds with this free, exciting, further education student placement to help you gain a Level 1 Caring for Children Qualification with a view to start after a completed DBS.

This is an opportunity to complete your Study Programme within one of our Tops Day Nurseries. Here at Tops Day Nurseries we have an outstanding reputation in delivering the best quality childcare across the South-West, operating nurseries and play clubs across Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset, Wiltshire and Devon.

The successful applicants for this course will be joining our nursery based in Yeovil. This placement is not suitable if you are currently on a further education programmes, this placement is suitable for those not currently in education or training.

Your training will be provided by the Aspire Training Team who have an outstanding reputation as well as being graded ‘Good’ by OFSTED in delivering top quality training. The Course offers fantastic progression opportunities for those wishing to have a career in childcare.

As part of this role, you will be working alongside other students and early year’s staff to provide a high standard of childcare to all children within the setting: you will help play a part in their general day to day activities to aid your knowledge in order to complete your level 1.

**About You** We are looking for people who are passionate and enthusiastic about beginning their career in child care, where you will work alongside qualified childcare practitioners, learning from the best in how to support the care and development of children aged 0 to 5. You will need to take this role seriously, as we are looking for someone that is eager to progress onto an apprenticeship after completing their Study Programme.

You must be able to demonstrate a good work ethic and be able to communicate effectively with the people around you, making sure that you treat both other staff and children with respect and care at all times.

**Your Responsibilities and Duties will involve**:

- Assist in providing a safe environment for children
- Interact positively with the children and staff
- Assist with all day to day activities including, Play, Meal times, Cleaning duties and support with trips
- Provide a good role model for the children
- Attend regular fun and practical (Term time only) Workshops
- Enjoy your learning experience and gain all you need to know to understand the basics of childcare.
