We're looking for an experienced Operations Manager with manufacturing / logistics experience to take full responsibility for the operations and warehousing functions across this fast-growing entrepreneurial business with a strong people culture.

Based in Milton Keynes, this role integrates across project delivery, supply chain and purchasing to support teams in providing successful delivery of their products and services through their next phase of growth.

This pivotal operational management role will report to the MD and liaise with the Group Operations Director on business strategy and Supply Chain Management to support the growth of the business with best-in-class supply chain and operational managementthrough delivery, cost control, quality, safety, and service offering to the internal and external customer base.

Leading the Operational team function demands strong planning management coupled with a key understanding of logistics, Health & Safety management, as well as problem solving, exceptional communication and leadership skills. A background in construction/ engineering would also be an advantage

**What you'll do**

The Operations Manager will be responsible for all operational management activities including
- Inbound/ outbound logistics
- Warehouse management (2 sites)
- Product design and production (internal/ external)
- Project stock replenishment

You'll work closely with the Project Delivery (installations) team to ensure on-time-in-full deliveries to site, also the Commercial team on demand forecasting and order fulfillment, as well as Group Operations specialists on New Product Development, SHEQ,Procurement, process improvement, etc.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Manage the warehousing and distribution systems, including outsourced facilities
- Ensure that team objectives are translated to KPA’s and KPI’s
- Co-ordinate plans across the Operations team
- Planning and scheduling, in line with supply and demand forecasts
- Maintain service levels to the business - no stock shortages
- Report on late delivery schedule against supplier commitments
- Manage service levels to the Project Delivery teams
- Organise and deliver audits of the operational business process
- Develop contingency plans to ensure that performance targets are achieved even in adverse conditions
- Lead on embedding a continuous improvement culture and process
- Develop a network of specialist production resources locally
- Develop a network of transportation, warehousing and other outsourced services that optimises cost and quality levels
- Ensures security and loss control in the inventory and warehouse management processes
- Ongoing research of changes in requirements legislation, benchmarks as well as supply chain practice
- Provide leadership and guidance to the broader project’s teams on the planning schedule and delivery obligations.
- Support the Field Operations Manager and Project Delivery Managers to identify options to optimise delivery of projects
- Challenge and test project assumptions requirements to ensure that plans are realistic and achievable and within project scope, budget and GM targets.
- Monitor and analyse information, reporting progress and any slippage and highlight risk areas to the wider team for resolution and actions.

**About you**:

- Commercial / Operational management experience ideally across both construction and infrastructure works/projects.
- Strong organisational skills using operational management, ERP systems, Business Central etc.
- Capability to undertake complex calculations
- Exemplary communication skills
- Analytical with strong commercial acumen
- Must be able to set priorities, develop work schedules and influence others to achieve results qualification
- Work cooperatively and effectively with others to ensure business improvements and efficiencies on business objectives
- Customer engagement when applicable
- Experience and/or knowledge working within:

- Project Delivery/ installation environment is desirable, or a service-related background
- Short lead time execution whilst maintaining mínimal working capital
- Capable of working to challenging deadlines and managing multiple tasks efficiently
- Initiative-taking, hands-on, can-do attitude
- Able to work independently and autonomously when required
- A result orientated problem solver
- Able to lead and develop a team
- Diligence, tenacious, persistent, and balanced
- Able to articulate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
