**Operations Manager (Fit Out/Joinery)**

Our client is currently on the lookout for an Operations Manager that is passionate, people focussed, and has a demonstrable commercial aptitude.

This opportunity would suit someone with a strong commercial and operational acumen. The Operations Manager has full responsibility and accountability for the success of their business, including caring and supporting their team, managing and presentingthe commercials of their business, developing their business and maintaining the existing client relationships. It's a role requiring organisation, balance and investment.

**About the role**:

- Support, mentor and manage the Contracts and Site teams.
- Work closely and promote close working relationships between Contracts, Site teams and all other departments.
- Manage Contracts staff to ensure Company policies and procedures are being adhered to.
- Compile contract projects information from the Contracts teams and site documents for presenting to the Regional Director.
- Visit live projects to maintain contact with Site teams and provide support and guidance.
- Liaise with Clients and Design teams as appropriate/where necessary.
- Assist Procurement and Contracts Managers s in the development of subcontract supply chain.
- Assist and provide guidance in identifying and mitigating the risks associated with any project.
- Identify and authorise equipment needs.
- Assist in the development of procedures/processes where applicable to support Contracts and Site teams in the delivery of projects.
- Ensure a consistent approach to delivery on all work streams and projects.
- Manage the allocation of projects to Contracts and Site teams and ensure appropriate labour is available.
- Ensure unallocated resource costs are recorded correctly.
- Establish the requirement for additional resource and recruit where appropriate within the constraints of the business budgets.

**Experience and Qualifications**
- Demonstrable evidence of experience of a similar management role based within contracts/project management.
- **Must have spent more than 5 years within the high-end fit out OR Joinery sectors (NB)**:

- Experience in the management and development of multiple teams to achieve successful completion of projects and continued growth within the industry.
- Knowledge and awareness of issues that may affect the budgetary control and timely completion of construction projects.
- Knowledge of health, safety and environmental safety requirements within the industry.
- Demonstrable ability to present and manage project plans for construction projects.
- Understanding of financial management controls.
- Computer literate with knowledge of the Microsoft Office packages.
- NVQ level 6 in 6 or equivalent in construction or construction related activity.
- Driving license.
