This is a 12 month fixed-term contract.

Salary £27,498 + excellent benefits.

The Replay Operator is primarily responsible for providing still images and replays for multiple services using Grass Valley Live Touch. Additional responsibilities will be ingesting content from remote locations and archiving footage from multiple venues. The Replay Operator must be capable of working with a variety of broadcast equipment in a live production environment and work closely with all teams to deliver professional broadcast content.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Live Touch operation including ingest/playout, slow motion replay and photo stills, source selection via router and use of server based video systems.
- Live Touch operation including clip creation, logging, archive management and use of server based systems to manage and maintain SIS’ racing footage.
- Good knowledge/capability with computers
- Ensure that the best interests of SIS are upheld at all times.
- Provide high quality and timely delivery of duties.
- Operate within the legal and regulatory framework.
- Use of talkback facilities, interaction with broadcast and monitoring routers, carries out start-up and power down procedures in some technical areas.
- Management of editorial pieces such as Pre-records, inserts and features.
- Ensure interactions with Customers remain professional and best represent the values of SIS.
- Ability to effectively communicate problems and solutions to relevant parties.
- Identify new ideas and processes as well as providing input for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of existing processes.

**Skills & Experience**:

- Prior experience as a Technical Operator/Replay operator in a broadcast environment, or a recent graduate with a strong emphasis on broadcast production techniques and operations.
- Good knowledge of broadcast technical operations, including fundamentals of audio and video theory and production techniques.
- Previous live gallery experience would be an advantage.
- A good knowledge of gallery and studio equipment.
- Good level of PC literacy.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to work autonomously.
- A calm and methodical approach, combined with the ability to quickly react to changing circumstances and to work well under pressure.
- Concentration, mental stamina and focus.
- Precise attention to detail.
- Committed to continuous improvement and personal development.
- An interest in Sport / Sports Broadcasting.
- Experience of transmission control within a multi-service Playout operation.
- An ability to remain composed in a high pressure environment.
