An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Workforce Lead - East Coast Pathology Network within the East of England Region of NHS England and NHS Improvement.

The post holder will provide strategic advice and guidance on the full range of various workforce issues, including workforce planning, talent management, recruitment and retention, change management, training, academies; leading on the development, implementation, establishment and review of performance management systems within the relevant functions collaboratively across the Networks.

NHS England and NHS Improvement came together on 1 April 2019 as a new single organisation. The NHS Long Term Plan focuses on delivering integrated care to patients at the local level and we can best support the NHS to deliver this as a single integrated organisation. Our new operating model represents a strong shift to regional delivery supported by expert corporate teams. Local health systems are supported by our integrated regional teams who play a major leadership role in the geographies they manage.

This is initially a fixed term post until 31st March 2024 however has the potential to be extended or become substantive.

A job share would be considered for the right applicants.

Interviews proposed for w/c 27th March.
- Act as an ambassador for the Network, ensuring the positive development of the Network brand, championing the Network’s values
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that delivery and improvement plans are developed, implemented and reviewed
- Work in partnership with colleagues across the Network to drive the achievement of the corporate goals and business plan, including achievement of all the relevant performance standards incorporating quality, safety, contractual, financial and people
- Management strategies to meet business and workforce plans, including associated staff training needs to support improved service delivery
- Work with Key Stakeholders to plan the future workforce requirements and talent management strategies to meet business and workforce plans, including associated staff training needs to support improved service delivery
- Supporting the HR Advisors to improve people management skills in the Network and ultimately improve the overall performance of the Network through better managed staff
- To coach and support managers on adopting good HR practice by offering effective HR advice through the interpretation of current employment & case law, best practice and Network’s policies
- Develop and deliver a robust HR Strategy to include Academies in supporting future growth
- Ensure that financial controls are established and maintained within the relevant departments
