**Job summary**:
The Leadership College for Government (LCG) equips public service leaders and managers with the skills, knowledge, and networks to solve today's most complex problems. We offer various leadership and management programmes and events across the country and to all levels of civil servant. The LCG is part of the Government Campus, which is overseen by the Government Skills and Curriculum Unit. The Campus has a mission to drive up capability across Government in an evidence-based and impact-led way, and it unifies a wide range of learning and development interventions around an innovative and future-facing core curriculum.

As Senior Researcher for the Leadership College for Government (LCG) you will be a key researcher/analyst supporting our programmes. We are expanding our team, and you will support the development and implementation of evaluations across LCG.

You will develop our monitoring approaches and use them to provide insight on the programmes we deliver and the people who attend them. You will work proactively across the College to support our delivery teams and provide them with the evidence they need to make decisions, including using existing research.

There are a wide range of projects you may become involved with, being responsive to the priorities of the LCG and the wider Campus team. You will report to the Leadership and Management Research and Evaluation Lead.

We care about making a difference in our work and the importance of good evidence. If you want your work to have a lasting impact that will make a difference to the Civil Service and wider public sector, read on.

**Job description**:

- Develop and implement appropriate monitoring processes and reporting tools, supporting the LCG team to make full use of data to facilitate appropriate interpretation and decision-making.
- Alongside the Leadership and Management Research and Evaluation Lead, work closely with internal stakeholders to identify, prioritise and thematically connect longer term and immediate evidence needs (including understanding user needs).
- Support LCG teams in implementing robust approaches to address user and evidence needs, using and developing your own knowledge of the evidence base and drawing on appropriate external evidence and expertise.
- Support the management of any externally commissioned evaluation or research projects, including being day-to-day contact as required.
- Contribute towards our (externally commissioned or internal) evaluation or research projects being robust, purposeful, efficient and aligned with the Government
