That’s where the role of Private Shopping Porter comes in, our team are responsible for the quality control of all stock coming in and out of the department. The Porter is responsible for the setup of the department, ensuring all relevant stock is replenished and the Private Shopping department is ready to trade for the day.
About the Role
Our Porters are responsible for the management of stock movement between sites, including Dispatch, Customer Collection points, Trevor Square and Courier desk. You will build a strong relationships across all departments to ensure the same vision is projected and achieve mutual business goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Return stock to the departments daily, as and when required.
- Carry bags to the door for clients at the request of Private Shoppers and Private Client Managers team.
- Ensure security procedures are followed at all times to prevent theft/stock loss.
- Ensure Harrods standards are adhered to prior to opening for trade.
- Assist with presentation of stock in storage areas.
- Support with packing of client goods prior to leaving the department.
- Manage the Private Shopping cage on a daily basis, unpacking and organise stationary.
- Management of stock returns from appointments.
- Support stock controller with face checks.
- Support the Private Shopper and Private Client Manager with collecting paid stock from the shopfloor.
- Client dispatches to be processed accordingly and taken to dispatch throughout the day.
About You
You will have experience within a retail environment and working to support a fast paced environment. We can invest in your development to fill in some of the gaps and give you the tools needed to succeed, but you are passionate about people, Harrods, and providing world class customer service, going above and beyond to create moments of delight.
To excel in this role you will have the following experiences and knowledge:
- Have great organisational skills to keep the department running smoothly.
- Be able to build strong relationships with the private shoppers and management team.
- Have a keen eye for detail when inputting client data.
- Experience working in a luxury setting is desirable, but not essential.
- Working in a fast paced environment and able to adapt to any situation.
- Able to deliver clear and precise communication.
