Role summary 1. To assist registered therapy staff as directed to ensure the safe provision of outpatient therapy intervention. 2. To assist registered therapists in their administrative duties for the functioning of the therapy department.

3. To take responsibility for own delegated clinical caseload. 4. To undertake assessment-related activities and treatment/intervention as required or as directed by registered therapist.

5. To participate in audit and service development. 6. To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

Key responsibilities 1. To establish a therapeutic relationship with patients and, undertake therapeutic intervention both independently and under direct supervision of the registered therapist. 2. To provide administration support for senior therapy staff to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the outpatient service.

3. To liaise regularly with therapists regarding treatment progression and ongoing care. 4. To support in the facilitation and organisation/administration of patient care including patient education groups and intervention programmes.

5. To carry a designated case load and act responsibly in the execution of clinical duties paying due regard to health and safety of self and others. 6. To record and report findings appropriately, following the standard procedure used by the department, including the use of electronic recording systems.

7. To liaise with members of the multi-disciplinary team and external agencies to ensure the effective management of patients care. 8. To assist where necessary in the provision of cover across the service in times of annual leave / sickness etc.

9. To prepare and maintain equipment and the treatment areas including household duties. 10. To monitor and maintain equipment stocks and supplies under direction of senior therapists.

11. To ensure effective internal and external 2-way communication with patients, carers and all other Health and Social Care Professionals regarding aspects of patient care. Providing and receiving complex information which requires empathy and reassurance. Communicating where there may be barriers to understanding.
