**About the role**:
**Responsibilities as our 2nd Line Desktop Support will include**:

- Provide support to students and staff using the IT network and AV systems
- Provide skilled operational support to staff and students via the College’s Help Desk, remote workstation fault diagnostics and network administration services.
- Install, maintain, service, clean and repair IT, Audio Visual and presentation systems as directed.
- Deliver, issue and receive IT systems and materials to and from staff and students as necessary.
- Ensure that all College IT Desktop systems are well maintained and operated in accordance with sound educational practices, current health and safety regulations and report any cases of abuse of IT and presentation systems and take appropriate remedial action
- Ensure that workstations and systems meet the requirements of our obligations with regard to safeguarding and online safety and that students and staff are protected from harmful content.
- Support members of the IT team to provide proactive and positive communication with the Service’s customers
- Resolve the majority of requests for assistance at the first point of contact, using remote tools where appropriate
- Attend regular briefing meetings
- Maintain workstation security
- Maintaining any necessary records as directed
- Keep up-to-date with technical developments and provide additional documentation where necessary.

**As our 2nd Line Desktop Support, you’ll** **ideally have**:
- Demonstrable passion for IT and IT Systems.
- Basic knowledge of IT hardware and experience in PC Maintenance.
- Knowledge of modern Windows Operating Systems.
- Experience of working within IT and IT User Support
- Good interpersonal and written skills.
- Good customer care / service skills.
- Methodical approach to problem solving.
- Good organisational skills.
- Be available for evening and weekend work
- Respond to emergencies outside normal working hours
- Attendance at cross-College events e.g. open evenings/ days, parents evenings.
- Willingness to work across all campuses
