The key purpose of this role will be to improve student experience at SRUC by enhancing and growing student communities. It will do so by:

- Nurturing student-led communities, such as clubs and societies.
- Supporting student volunteers, including SRUC Students’ Association (SRUCSA) liberation officers.
- Supporting SRUCSA’s Co-Presidents in their delivery of community-building events.
- Developing systems that will ensure the maintenance and growth of student communities.

The postholder will also provide wider support for SRUCSA as part of the wider SRUCSA team.

**Nurturing Student-Led Communities**
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with student leaders of (and staff who support) student-led communities such as, but not exclusive to, clubs, societies, and other relevant groups.
- Provide support to student leaders of (and staff who support) student-led communities, advising them in developing, maintaining and growing their communities.
- Connect student leaders of (and staff who support) student-led communities both to each other, to SRUCSA officers and to relevant SRUC staff.
- Communicate about student-led communities, including their activities and outputs, actively working to raise their visibility within and outwith SRUC.
- Develop a framework that allows student-led community development to be self-sustaining.

**Supporting SRUCSA Volunteers**
- Provide advice and guidance to SRUCSA’s volunteer liberation officers in the development and delivery of their liberation objectives (currently supporting BAME students, disabled students, LGBT+ students, and women students).
- Connect SRUCSA’s volunteer liberation officers to each other, to SRUCSA officers and to relevant SRUC staff.
- Communicate about SRUCSA’s liberation officer projects, including their activities and outputs, actively working to raise their visibility within and outwith SRUC.
- Act as point of contact for ad-hoc SRUCSA student volunteers (e.g. those who provide input to and support for SRUCSA projects, activities and campaigns).
- Provide informational guidance to SRUCSA student volunteers in their input to and support for SRUCSA projects, activities and campaigns.
- Develop and maintain a directory of SRUCSA student volunteers.

**Supporting SRUCSA Events**
- Provide administrative support to SRUCSA Co-Presidents in their planning and delivery of key events (e.g. Welcome Week events, bespoke virtual and on-campus events, SRUCSA awards etc), for example recording event data, preparing communications, assistingwith event planning and attending events.
- Act as point of contact for and liaise with third party organisations involved in SRUCSA events (e.g. councils, vendors, sponsors etc).

Other
- Take part in team meetings and liaise with the SRUCSA officers on projects relevant to the position.
- Any other duties commensurate with the grade and focus of the post.
