**Essential Experience**: Applicants should have excellent communication skills, good organisation skills with attention to detail, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

**Essential Qualities**: Applicants should be committed to enhancement of the student experience and wellbeing at QMU, as well as embedding a Students as Partners approach across the institution.

**Description of Duties**:Student Champions will work with QMU staff and students to support the development and delivery of initiatives to enhance and support the student experience at QMU. These projects will be in line with the priorities identified in the QMU Student Experience Strategy delivery plan, and the current Enhancement Themes institutional project that focusses on loneliness and isolation.

Individual Student Champions will represent and help to champion specific areas of focus that will include:

- Loneliness and Isolation
- The Learner Journey

Additional areas of focus may include:

- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
- Sustainability and Social Justice
- Students as Partners
- Healthy Universities
- Employability, Enterprise and Entrepreneurship
- Quality Enhancement,
- Innovation in Learning Teaching and Assessment

This is a student focussed role which will require you to draw from your own experience as a student (either undergraduate or postgraduate), as well as skills in supporting the development of resources, projects and communications and delivering these to staff and students.

**Contract Basis**:
A maximum of 70 hours in total (across all paid roles at QMU) over an twelve month period. This role will involve a minimum of 4 hours/month, however the total time commitment is not fixed, and there will be some flexibility to vary the hours/month as required.

All Student Champions will be required to attend in person training at QMU in February 2023 prior to commencing their role. Student Champions will also be required to attend supplementary training over the course of the year. All training time will be paid.

Work will commence in February 2023 and could continue until July 2023.

Interviews will be held on Teams during the week commencing 30th January 2023.
