To be responsible for the read coding (using readcodes or SNOMED) of relevant information into patients electronic healthcare records using SystmOne, adhering to the organisation coding and summarising policy. In addition, the post holder will also support the multi-disciplinary team, providing administrative support as required, in line with the needs of the organisation.

This job is 25 - 30 hours.

The core responsibilities of the Coder/Summariser are listed in the job description. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assign appropriate codes to medical diagnoses and procedures using SNOMED CT coding systems
- Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness for coding purposes
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and obtain additional information as needed
- Follow coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Stay up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines, regulations, and industry best practices

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 1 years of experience as a Coding Specialist or similar role
- Proficiency in SystmOne - SNOMED CT coding systems
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Familiarity with SystmOne clinical software
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding assignments
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare providers
