We’re seeking an HR professional with solid Employee Relations experience to join our dedicated in-house HR Advisory team, on a permanent basis.
The focus of this role will be to provide timely and accurate advice, guidance and recommendations to line managers on all aspects of Employee Relations matters, such as disciplinary, grievance, performance, terminations including settlements and long andshort-term absences to conclusion.
The role will also include identifying, assessing and implementing employment law changes that impact SJP policies and practices, ensuring all stakeholders understand the implications. The role holder will provide generalist HR helpline support to line managersand employees, acting as the first point of contact for designated Business Areas.
What you’ll be doing:
- Responsible for managing Employee Relations cases from end-to-end in accordance with SJP People policies and guidance, and employment legislation/ best practice.
- Providing timely and accurate HR, ER, Reward or Talent advice to managers and employees in response to incoming queries.
- Deliver workshops and training to strengthen business understanding of people policies, people management best practice or to address identified issues.
- Acting as an escalation point for people issues raised through the People Services Administration team.
- Carrying out exit interviews, when requested.
- Providing people partnering support as required, particularly to support cyclical activity (e.g., promotions, engagement surveys, pay review).
- Support and inform well being activity as required.
Who we’re looking for:
- Strong experience in Employee Relations matters (including disciplinary, grievance, performance, terminations including settlements and long and short-term absences)
- Broad HR generalist experience to enable the resolution of diverse HR issues (incl. reward, recruitment, culture, job evaluation and salary benchmarking, development, talent management, health and wellbeing and workforce planning).
- You’ll have up to date knowledge of employment law and Employee Relations / general HR best practices and an understanding of how this knowledge can be applied practically to deliver balanced and commercial outcomes.
- Experience gained from within a corporate environment (preferably from within a regulated financial services environment but not essential).
- Ideally qualified to CIPDL5 (or qualified by experience)
- Able to inspire and build trusted relationships, operating with high levels of professionalism and discretion at all times.
- Good understanding of key employee life cycle events for employees and alignment with core SJP ER polices & practices (e.g., induction, PDRs &, development planning and leavers).
- A strong focus on culture and diversity.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and Word.
Special Requirements:
- Some occasional travel may be required.
