We are looking to recruit a Regulatory Compliance Officer Apprentice to join us on a 2-year development programme. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your knowledge, skills and competence in the workplace with the benefit of ongoing, generous and flexible support from a learning provider, experienced colleagues, and the wider National Highways Early Talent Network.

As a Regulatory Compliance Officer Apprentice, you’ll have real responsibility, gaining hands on experience that will help you to learn and develop skills to succeed in your role.
- You’ll be guided by industry leading professionals who will coach, manage, and mentor you
- You’ll learn about essential compliance processes such as assurance and regulatory reporting. The apprenticeship scheme will enable you to create meaningful connections from across the business and help shape your people skills
- You’ll use these skills to help colleagues to ensure they understand and are working within our regulatory compliance framework
- You’ll encourage the highest ethical standards and support colleagues to respond appropriately to internal and external queries
- You’ll learn how to use your attention to detail and analytical skills to spot regulatory compliance risks and identify areas for improvement
- You’ll develop your project management skills to lead and support projects to improve our regulatory compliance processes and contribute to delivery of our Regulatory Strategy
- You’ll also work with the team to learn how to manage our external relationships with, for example, the Office of Rail and Road and the Department for Transport

Overall, you’ll gain an advantageous view of how a large public organisation functions internally and is held to account externally. Combining this experience alongside your studies, you will work towards gaining a Level 4 qualification which is widely respected.

**About you**
- You must hold a minimum of five GCSEs (including English and Maths, at grade C/grade 4 or above)
- You’ll hold a Level 3 qualification, which can include A levels, NVQ, and BTEC / or relevant experience
- You’ll evidence the ability to work effectively with others in a team environment
- You’ll evidence the ability to work to timescales, prioritising where necessary
- You’ll evidence the ability to give and receive information effectively
- You’ll evidence the ability to write clearly and concisely
- You’ll evidence your desire and passion to pursue a career within National Highways
