We are recruiting for a Buyer to join a to join a well established multi-site retail business with 65 superstores nationwide and thriving Web & Telesales, supplying tools and machinery based at their Head Office in Nottingham City Centre.

This Buyer position is a permanent role working Monday to Thursday 8.30am-6pm and Fridays 8.30am-5pm. The role offers a salary of £45k per annum plus excellent benefits as below

As Buyer reporting into the Purchasing Manager, you will be working as part of a team of 7 in total negotiating optimum terms from new and existing suppliers and placing of orders. Your key responsibilities will be as follows:
Control purchase of products, capital and non-capital lines as per the store replenishment requirements or sales forecasts and expediting orders once placed
Liaising with potential suppliers to source new products for inclusion in catalogue and website listed products
Optimise stock turnover by ensuring adequate/ frequent ordering and liaising with suppliers to provide product sales forecasts
Liaise with Marketing/ Creative Services to co-ordinate product placement requirements
Ongoing monitoring of product failure rates and negotiate resolution with suppliers
Liaising with suppliers to obtain contributions to marketing campaigns as required from time to time
Liaising with Internal departments to ensure that all new suppliers have an approved status, prior to placement of orders
Processing all invoices in a timely manner and arranging payment with relevant departments
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:
Previous experience as a Buyer from a retail hard goods background ideally
Some knowledge of the DIY industry would be advantageous
Good IT skills especially Excel
Demonstrable negotiation and influencing skills
Proven success in creating efficiencies whilst not compromising on quality
