Head of Retail

I am delighted to be working in partnership with CT Baker Group on their search for a Head of Retail to join their well established store in Holt.
**Purpose of job**To develop, initiate and lead the execution of the retail strategy which will include the retail operations across Bakers and Larners and online to drive sales and profit and deliver greater market share. To lead a customer centric motivated, high performingteam through dynamic and engaging leadership, to ensure that Bakers and Larners maximise added value at every customer touch point instore and in our digital offer, to ensure the mission to be an Exceptional Department Store.
**Role**
With your team you will be leading the retail through visible management, on job coaching and leading a selling culture.
**Accountabilities and Responsibilities**:

- Extensive proven experience in Retail Operations Roles.
- Ability to lead a complex and diverse category mix.
- Accountable for clear and accurate year end accounts, to include stocktake completion, closing stock levels, new season intake.

- Lead the team through changes in the operating model and in line with the business strategy - recruiting, developing, deploying and retaining team members, ensuring resources and capabilities are available to deliver business results now and for the future.
- Leadership of the team through retail operation compliance with all policies and procedure to include but not exhaustive retail excellence, operational, security, health and safety.
- Ensure you and the team are customer centric driven and available when our customers need us, in line with seasonal peak trading, events and weekends, ensuring this time is reserved for customer focus and not operational or task focus that removes you oryour team from the trading floor to ensure we are an exceptional experience.
- Collaborate with the Group Marketing function to manage all channels of interaction and communication with customers, developing ways to communicate the brand to customers. In working with the team ensuring you remain on trend with all social media platforms.
- Develop the strategic direction by researching and engaging new business through our physical and digital offer.
- Create a cohesive and effective business wide team for your areas using best practice processes and structure to drive excellence and efficiencies.
- Drive understanding through your team and improve business performance, developing a strong working relationship with the Merchandise Team in support of effective range planning, accurate forecasting, data analysis and reporting.
- With the Managing Director define space across the store to optimise sales and profit densities.
- Overall accountability for ensuring that sales are maximised through stock availability, optimising store design, store allocation and working with the Merchandise Team ensuring commercial replenishment.
- Ensure KPIs and costs are in line with budget and supply chain plans.
- Develop an online range plan which reflects the Bakers and Larners brand.

**Shared Team Accountabilities**:

- As part of the Senior Leadership Team, provide thought leadership and identify opportunities for Bakers and Larners to maximise its purpose and commercial opportunity.
- Look ahead and externally to identify macro issues and opportunities for the organisation to inform and shape the business strategy.
- Collaborate with wider members of the Senior Leadership Team and work closely with other key areas in the business to influence and contribute to the wider business strategy and maximise business opportunities.
- As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, lead the work to support the cultural and transformational journey to win hearts and minds as Bakers and Larners aligns its operating model.
- Ensuring business and assets are secured, facilitating appropriate out of hours cover, in line with insurance requirements.

**Key Skills and Experience**:

- A strong analytical background with proven track record of analysing data and executing plans that have improved KPIs.
- Highly developed communication, influencing and relationship skills.
- Competent through Excel, Word and Teams
- Experience operating at a senior level within a Retail business with E-commerce and multichannel environment, leading to a sound understanding of the elements required for business performance.
