**Job description**:

- The Ministerial and Parliamentary Support Team is part of the Department’s Ministerial Private Office which sits at the heart of the department. The team is responsible for correspondence, parliamentary engagement, and FOIs. The Ministerial and Parliamentary Support Team is a new and friendly team working across the whole breadth of the department’s work. Working closely with ministerial private offices and policy officials, you will be part of a fast-paced team, where you will need to produce high quality work and have a good attention to detail.
- You will have the opportunity to work in a brand-new Department, with Innovation at its core, and will have opportunities to influence how the Ministerial and Parliamentary support team functions.-
**Person specification**:

- Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting with the Parliamentary Clerk and Deputy Parliamentary Clerk to provide high quality, timely advice and support for officials and Ministers in both Houses of Parliament.
- Taking a key role in the delivery of the Department’s secondary legislation programme.
- Commissioning ministerial briefings for parliamentary activity including, oral questions, debates, select committees.
- Assisting the coordination of written parliamentary questions processes.
- Managing the administration of the parliamentary activities such as laying and depositing of papers, mailbox management and organising parliamentary passes.
- Building strong and effective working relationships with Ministerial offices, Special Advisors, press office, other government department Parliamentary Branches, Leader’s Office, clerks and officials in both Houses of Parliament.
- Helping to create a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Demonstrating an interest in policy developments and current events, and able to assess the likely impact on parliamentary business.
