Exams and Assessment Manager

A University in the heart of Birmingham are looking for an experienced Exams and Assessment Manager
As and Examinations Manager you will work with senior managers, academic staff and other administrative staff plus some external contacts to manage the College’s assessment support requirements.
Key duties include:
- Liaising with key academic staff to understand and put in place appropriate assessment support requirements which also reflect University and relevant professional, statutory, and regulatory body requirements.
- Organising and managing the operation of College specialist assessments including practical based examinations (OSCEs)
- Advising and supporting staff on assessment regulatory and procedural matters
- Manage simulated and expert patient arrangements and act as a key point of contact for staff, clinicians, general practitioners, and other key internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage question banks of assessment packages, and other material. Supporting students and staff with the use of eAssessment packages.
- Supporting the organisation and servicing of examination boards
Throughout the temporary contract the postholder will work especially closely with the Medical School but will also offer support to other schools/programmes across the College
Ideally, you should have good experience of an assessment management or administration role in Further or Higher Education. Familiarity with medical or health education or work in medical/ health professional organisations would also be valuable - but not essentialso long as you are able to quickly pick up and understand the relevant requirements for thedegree programmes and students.
It is important that they are proactive, flexible, and self-starter. They must be highly organised and able to strategically reflect and plan. You must also be a good communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to quickly establish positive and effectiveworking relationships with a variety of academic staff, clinicians and external stakeholders. You must have excellent IT and analytical skills and be able to manage, analyse and interpret data.
